My brother called me last night. My mom fell on Saturday in her apartment. She lives in assisted living. Sunday they took her to the hospital. She has a broken hip - the ball on the end of her femur that fits into the hip socket is broken. So, there was the option on getting a new hip replacement or have her bed bound for the rest of her life. She's 88 so my brother decided to go ahead with the surgery, to give her a chance. It's very risky though but the alternative for her was unthinkable. My mom has advanced Alzheimer's so it's very difficult to figure out what she wants or needs. She's up in PA - I'm down here in FL. I will update you when I can. Thank you everyone.
